Thanks for writing this and explaining the difference between having some narcissistic tendencies and full blown NPD.
My question isn’t about determining whether or not someone is a narcissist, but rather how to determine whether or not someone meets the criteria to be labeled a clinician. I know that LSWs, MSWs, PsychDs, Counselors, Life Coaches, Doctors of Divinity etc., all have their specific criteria that they use to identify others of their ilk, but the qualifications, qualities and experiences that are used to definitively determine if someone is a clinician seems poorly defined in several grey areas to me.
I always read “leave it to the professionals.” I’m just not certain how to determine if someone in a professional.
I’ve never asked this question of anyone. I thought I would give it a shot. Ty.
