Older Gen X'er here. I recall that the foundations of many of the problems that boomers would eventually get blamed for were started by "The Greatest Generation."

I guess getting named "the Greatest Generation" was the greatest achievement in the history of propaganda. With that title, they must not have done any wrong.

Although, I do recall many cases of closet alcoholism, child abuse, and other issues that we just weren't allowed to talk about. Issues which the Greatest Generation also preferred we forget about as well.

Thanks for bravely recalling the times more realistically than the simplified stories we like to tell ourselves.
