My superior rationality and this piece of paper tells me so.

Dear Medium readers,

It has come to my attention that some (many?) of you are unaware of my recent accolades. As of December 17, 2021, I have been conferred the title of Master of Science by Arizona State University.

For those of you that require further explanation, this means that I am even…

A continuing saga with AT&T could be with any company.

The following rant is about At&T, but it could be about any company.

In the past two years, I’ve had similar frustrating experiences with at least a dozen companies.

Looping phone trees, Customer Service Representatives tasked with doing whatever it takes to get the customer off the phone. Donotreply email addresses. Companies have perfected the art of being unavailable, incompetent and useless.

The…

You never know who had your number before you.

I was tired of getting robocalls and telemarketers calling me all day long, especially on Wednesdays.

Don’t ask me why, but they chose Wednesday as the day to make my phone ring nonstop. On the plus side, they almost never called on Fridays.

In any case, the near constant harassment was getting on my nerves, so I changed my phone number thinking that would solve my…

A Text Exchange with a Small Business Shows How Americans are Opening the Gates to Hell.

I know the world is horrible and getting worse, but aren’t there limits to people’s spite and foolishness?

Classical Aristotelian logic, for example, must have been murdered in its sleep sometime in 2016. The following text exchange is just one example of many that shows the unfortunate demise of “consensus logic” in the United States:

I ordered furniture assembly service from Walmart for $89 plus taxes today. The…

I hereby indemnify myself.

Complaining about employers is a perennial activity.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, it doesn’t matter, all employers suck year round. Yes, you read that right. In this current post-truth, post-Trump hella toxic environment ALL EMPLOYERS SUCK.

I wanted to make that clear now, while we are all cheery and filled with the spirit of the holiday season.

This is a joke, right?

I think I might have lost my job.

As underhanded and noncommittal as everyone is, it’s hard to tell. No one will give me a straight answer, and no one will put anything in writing. I got suspended without pay, but just checked my bank account. I got paid this morning.

That’s pretty typical from what I’ve seen these past 3 months.

Of course, 3 months is nowhere near…

Working on my speech for the Night of Power, the Day of Judgement.

I’m sick and tired of the torture. I’m reclaiming my power.

I’m taking away their ability to torture me. Whoever they are. It doesn’t matter anymore. Someday, I’ll find out as I drag them by their faces on searing gravel until I see them realize that they are about to touch the burning flames of Hell.

One day, I will finally…

You are being lied to

I am not your typical lackadaisical member of Generation X.

To the disappointment of the elder generations, I haven’t internalized hopelessness yet. I haven’t given in completely to despondency. Although I do say “whatever” quite a bit, I do so with a millennial sense of irony more than Gen X angst.

For decades I have admonished, chastised, laid hands on…
