I had just passed the ACRP certification exam for Clinical Research Associates on February 29th Leap Year, 2020. Later, I discovered that day was the last day the exam would be given until July. The country, in a new social and financial experiment, was to go into lock-down.
Today, I bet many people wish 2020s Leap Year was literal, allowing us to skip the whole year of 2020 instead of adding an extra day onto what will be the most memorable year testing our mental fortitude and our physical health.
I was scheduled to monitor on a device trial for…
Dysfunctional toxic families and workplaces are more common than we want to admit. Events happen within those families to purposefully damage children and adults alike. The problem: No one wants to believe it.
When people say, “Wow! That’s quite a story,” or “Wow! That’s unbelievable,” they are falling for the narcissistic suggestion that has been planted in their minds. They will deny your true story of narcissistic abuse, calling you unbelievable no matter how many times we’ve heard similar stories.
This serves the narcissist and denies the reality of their victims. The strange thing is the stories told by victims…
Doing a cross-comparison of 20 articles advising job seekers on what to include and exclude from a resume I’ve determined that their advice is pure conjecture. Another disheartening fact: those who are giving advice, coming across as knowledgeable, only really know about their individual process. Their adamant assertions that they know what works and what doesn’t is more an expression of false, unjustified confidence than actual expertise.
They are over confident bullshit artists with blinders on. The sad truth is that they cannot teach you the ultimate secret or even point you in the right direction when assembling your resume.
That would have been good advice for me most of my life. It’s too bad that repugnant people made it their mission to take a monkey wrench to my intuition distorting it until I was no longer sure what it was telling me.
Why would people do that? In my childhood, I was a walking truth detector. I like to use the phrase “truth detector” since the truth is rare. If my intuition were set to detecting lies, my nerves would be a bundled wreck by now as its alarm would constantly be going off. Lies are abundant.
What is it you want me to say to set things right? That I’m sorry for grieving for my grandmother who raised me? That I’m sorry for not obeying a mass murder? Well, I’m not.
America has once again upheld the decision it made long ago: it will not be fair with me. The crimes, the sins that this country has perpetrated against me are beyond outrageous. You don’t fucking want to know, but that’s too bad.
You forgot to kill me when you killed me. So, now I’m going to speak to you from the grave. I’ve returned from…
I refuse to live like this.
MONDAY 5/10/21: I’m sorry, again. I’m sorry I disappointed you. I’m sorry I’m alive. I’m sorry that everything I touch turns to shit. Everything I do is an embarrassment and an insult to you. It’s killing me. I can’t face myself in the mirror knowing the stupid mistakes I’ve made. I know you’re angry with me for being an idiot, for not being careful.
These catastrophic errors I’ve made, saying 9 am when I meant 930am. Saying the 13th when I meant the 14th. I know they are unforgivable sins. …
For the past 4 Ramadans, I have posted to my Facebook page what I have come to call “The American Quran.” It is simply a compilation of music that lyrically reads very much like the Qur’an.
The purpose of this project is multi-fold:
“Today, I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My blessing upon you, and chosen [Sufism] for you.” (Qur’an, 5:3)
It makes sense to me. Such decisions should not be left up to us or our parents. Also, God seems to have made a thoughtful and wise selection.
Practitioners of Sufism believe in the divine truth of love and knowledge through direct personal experience with God.
They attempt to reach a state of temporary ecstatic intoxication with Divine Love completely dwelling within God.
They believe that all things are part of God. …
It had been 26,000 years since the galactic wormholes aligned, granting the Intergalactic Draconian Empire access to the small blue-green planet 148 light-years from the Celestial Hub under the Empire’s control. Given the 1,000-year life span of the average Draco, the 148-year journey at light speed from Nu Draconis to Sol was doable, but not practical.
The last expedition to the quadrant verified that the liquid life of panspermia’s discharge had reached the third and fourth planets from Sol’s central yellow star spreading the virus that is life to those planets, infecting them with the spark of divinity.
I know how to divide it up into manageable chunks fit for human beings. I know how to facilitate large and small group discussions. I know how to organize the material for maximum retention, incorporating a variety of methods aimed at keeping the audience engaged in their learning. I know how to make people appreciate use of these techniques and methods.
I know how to give up control for the good of the group.
That’s all in the past. In two days, I will, for the first time in my life, spend over 2 painstakingly dry hours reading a PowerPoint…
